Anti-Spam Policy

Effective Date: 27th January 2025

Introduction

At World Text, we are committed to ensuring that our messaging services are used responsibly and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This Anti-Spam Policy outlines our stance on unsolicited communications and the measures we take to prevent spam.

Definition of Spam

Spam refers to any unsolicited or unwanted messages sent via electronic communication, including but not limited to SMS, email, and instant messaging. This includes messages sent without the recipient’s consent or messages that do not provide a clear opt-out mechanism.

Compliance with Laws

World Text adheres to all relevant anti-spam laws and regulations in the jurisdictions where we operate. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • CAN-SPAM Act (USA): Requires that commercial emails include a clear opt-out mechanism and accurate sender information.
  • GDPR (EU): Mandates that personal data is processed lawfully, transparently, and for specific purposes, including obtaining consent for marketing communications.
  • TCPA (USA): Prohibits the use of automated dialing systems to send unsolicited text messages without prior consent.
  • CASL (Canada): Requires that commercial electronic messages are sent only with the recipient’s consent and include identification and contact information of the sender.
  • Spam Act 2003 (Australia): Prohibits the sending of unsolicited commercial electronic messages and requires that such messages include a functional unsubscribe facility.
  • Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) (UK): Governs the use of electronic communications for unsolicited marketing and requires consent from recipients.

User Responsibilities

As a user of World Text services, you agree to:

  1. Obtain Consent: Ensure that you have obtained explicit consent from recipients before sending any marketing messages.
  2. Provide Opt-Out Options: Include a clear and easy-to-use opt-out mechanism in all communications, allowing recipients to unsubscribe from future messages.
  3. Maintain Accurate Records: Keep records of consent and opt-out requests to demonstrate compliance with applicable laws.

Monitoring and Enforcement

World Text reserves the right to monitor the use of its messaging services to ensure compliance with this Anti-Spam Policy. We may take the following actions in response to violations:

  • Warning: Issue a warning to the user regarding the violation.
  • Suspension: Temporarily suspend the user’s account until the issue is resolved.
  • Termination: Permanently terminate the user’s account for repeated violations.
